Paul Moore
After qualifying as an English teacher in 1976, I taught in Leeds, England for four years before leaving the UK to pursue a career as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language. Since then, I have taught all aspects of English - especially English for Business and English for Academic Purposes - in Germany, Spain, Sweden, Norway and the UK, often holding positions of responsibility. I have also taught Cambridge First Certificate and Proficiency and a variety of courses run by the British, German and Spanish Chambers of Commerce. I specialize in intercultural communication skills for business people.
Some of my past employers include the Universities of Leeds, Lancaster, Exeter and Southampton in the UK (pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes), the Folkuniversitet in Sweden (EFL and Business English), and the Norwegian School of Management in Stavanger, Norway (Business English and European Cultural Studies for MBA students). I have also worked as an in-company trainer at numerous companies throughout Europe including BASF and Siemens in Germany.
From January 2007 to April 2008, I was employed by the School of English Studies in Folkestone, England to set up and coordinate a new tutorial college. This managerial role entailed a wide range of tasks from course and prospectus design to the interviewing and employment of teachers. Between January and April 2008, I coordinated the college from Spain.
In July 2008, I taught English to Catalan school teachers at the government-run Official School of Languages in Figueres, Spain.
I am currently working as a freelance Business English trainer in Germany.
